Mrs. Dorothy M. Allen

Fayetteville, GA- Mrs. Dorothy Mae “Dot” Allen, wife of the late Deacon Leonard M. Allen, formerly of Brunswick Ave. entered into rest Thursday, November 24, 2011 at the residence. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 11:a.m. at Thankful Baptist Church with Rev. Christopher Walters officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Allen, a native of Durham, NC was an active member of Thankful Baptist Church and served in the Senior Citizen’s Ministry, Intercessory Prayer Ministry, the Usher Ministry, the Gospel Choir and the W. H. Harris Bible Class; She was also a founding member of Servants of God Baptist Church; a member of Lucy C. Laney Chapter #20, Fraternal Order of the Eastern Star, Stolkin Court #173 Imperial Court Daughters of Isis and worked for many years at the Four Seasons Post Exchange Store, Ft. Gordon, GA. Survivors are a devoted daughter, Joanne (Alfred) Jackson, Fayetteville, GA; sons, Leonard (Becky) Allen, Jr., Stone Mountain, GA, Anthony (Connie) Allen, Oak Ridge, TN; Dr. Clement (Adrienne) Allen, Tallahassee, FL; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two devoted nieces, Clariza I. (Broderick) Smith, Harlem, GA, Felicia B. Westbrook, Augusta, GA; a host of cousins; other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association at http://act.alz.org/goto/DorothyMAllen
