Mrs. Myrtle Mae Campbell, age 94 of Tallapoosa died November 28, 2011. She was born June 18, 1917 in Hogansville, GA to the late George Washington Pinkerton and Laura Ann Cash Pike. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Anderson Campbell; their infant daughter Betty Jerlene Campbell and son W. A. Campbell and all her sisters and bothers.
Surviving Mrs. Campbell are her children, daughter Frances Hunt of Villa Rica; sons and daughters in law, Charles and Frances Campbell of Chatsworth, William “Bill” and Brenda Campbell of Waco, Douglas and Frances Campbell and Bobby and Kay Campbell all of Tallapoosa, Nell Campbell of Port Charlotte, FL and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held November 30, 2011 at 2:00 PM from Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Layton and Rev. Charles Munroe officiating. Her eulogy was given by her son, Rev. Charles Campbell. Music was provided by the Elsberry family. Pallbearers serving were her grandsons and great-grandsons, Duane Campbell, Kevin Campbell, Darrell Campbell, Eric “Rusty” Campbell, Vance Campbell, Brad Hunt, Drew Campbell and Cody Campbell.
Interment followed in Pine Grove Church Cemetery with Rev. Chester Pesnell presiding.
