Matthew A. Bradley, a longtime resident of Blauvelt, NY died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at The Armenian Home for the Aged in Emerson, NJ. He was 92. Matt was an Assistant Vice President of New York Life Insurance Company before his retirement. He served as a Captain in the Army during WWII. For many years he was an active member of St. Catharine’s Parish in Blauvelt serving as lector, minister of Communion, and volunteer. Matt was born on August 12, 1919 in New York City to Matthew Bradley and Mary Donohue. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years Margaret Riordan. He is survived by his children, Fr. Matthew Bradley of Scituate, MA, Kathy (Jack) Dempsey and Peggy Bradley of Pearl River; his grandchildren Katie (Peter) Tat of Glen Rock, NJ, John Dempsey (fiancée Annemarie Craig) of Pearl River and Regina Dempsey of Pomona, NY; his great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is the brother of the late Charles Bradley and Helen Beauchea. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catharine’s Church, Blauvelt, NY on Monday November 28th at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. Visiting is Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to The Foyer of Charity, 74 Hollett St., Scituate, MA 02066.
