Zenobia Baker, 71, was born to Charles and Mildred Martin on July 1, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the first of two daughters. Her parents preceded her in death. Zenobia Baker went to DuSable High School in Chicago, Illinois, where she received her high school diploma. She received Christ, our Lord and Savior at an early age. She was united in holy matrimony to John Henry Baker. Mrs. Zenobia Baker left Chicago, Illinois and later found her home in South Bend, Indiana. She worked at various places in town, but the most important job to her was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. On November 22, 2011, in Cardinal Nursing Home, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ called home one of his fallen angels. She leaves to mourn her passing, one sister, Mrs. Jacqueline Swoopes of Chicago, Illinois; three children: Christine Baker, Blain Baker, both of Mishawaka, Indiana and Paul Baker of Las Vegas, Nevada. She also leaves to cherish her memory a very special friend of the family that was like a daughter-in-law to her, Miss Amanda Ardnt. She had nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; along with a host of relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Baker; and a daughter-in-law, Essie Baker of Las Vegas, Nevada.There will be no visitation or service. The family will host a memorial for Mrs. Zenobia Baker at a later date.
