Mrs. Willie Pearl Johnson was born on May 10, 1931 in Hamilton, Georgia to the late Bro. Jim (“Daddy Buck”) Hudson and the late Sis. Sallie Emma (“Big Mama”) Adams Hudson.
She became a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Hamilton, GA at an early age. She was a devoted Christian and her faith never waived. She was committed to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, which showed daily throughout her life.
Sis. Willie Pearl Johnson was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Will Johnson Sr. on November 21, 1953. To this union seven children were born. She was employed by the Harris County Board of Education as a custodian.
Mrs. Johnson was truly devoted to her children and family. She loved being outside and growing her magnificent gardens which produced the best collard greens in the area. She also had a great love for animals and cared for them with love.
Sis. Johnson is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her infant daughter, her beloved son, Will Johnson Jr., and her devoted daughter Fammie Johnson Williams.
Mrs. Johnson’s loving memories will always be cherished by her children; three daughters Dr. Gladys J. Gordon of Covington, GA; Mrs. Sallie Emma (David) Jones Sr. of Shiloh, GA; Miss Ophelia Johnson of Hamilton, GA; one son Mr. Jim Hudson Johnson of Hamilton, GA; a daughter-in-law Mrs. Mary Johnson of Tuskegee, AL; one sister Mrs. Mammie Thomas of Decatur, GA; one sister-in-law Mrs. Ophelia Farley of Hamilton, GA; 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
