Richard A. Finethy, Sr., age 79, of Miramichie Hill Road in Alton, died October 14, 2011 at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia.
Born May 1, 1932 in Woburn, MA, the son of Harold and Ethel (Anderson) Finethy, he resided there for years, was a summer resident of Alton all his life and resided in Alton since 1964.
Dick was self employed as a carpenter, builder and electrician.
He was a member of American Legion Post #72 of Alton and was one of the founders of the former Alton Bay Water Ski Club. Dick had enjoyed snowmobiling and more recently enjoyed traveling with his RV to Myrtle Beach, SC.
Survived by his dear companion of 28 years: Jane B. Porter and his 3 children: Connie Nardi, Richard A. Finethy, Jr. and Callie Mellana, 6 grandchildren, 3 brothers: Harold “Bud” Finethy, Lenny Finethy and Dean Finethy, his aunt Barbara Kerrigan, also several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 5-8 pm at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street, Alton, NH with a funeral on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at New Riverside Cemetery in Alton.
