Willie Mae Bennett

Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Willie Mae Bennett of Tampa, who departed from this earthly life on Wednesday, September 28, 2011, will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3201 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL with the pastor, Reverend H. L. Daniels, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, Tampa, FL.

Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Willie (Bill) Walker, her husband, Luther Bennett; two daughters, Evelyn Brown and Julie Mae Donaldson; son, Joseph Baxter and granddaughter, Cynthia Brown.

She leaves pleasant memories in the hearts of many loved ones which include: her daughter, Joyce Baxter and son, Kenneth Bennett; grandchildren, Gary A. Brown, Brenda Brown, Deborah Lewis and husband, Odell, Garry Brown and wife, Jackie and Jacquelyn Brown-Reeder and husband, Robert; great grandchildren, Tracey Stephens, Chandria Brown, Shenice Davis and husband, Marvin, Stacy Mobley, Vincent Moore and wife, Sherese, Richard McCloud, Jr. and wife, Illamarie, Yashica Jordan, Latasha Brown, Vender Moore and wife, Carolyn, Angela Reeder, Laketa Keaton, Victor Mills, Maurice Green, Gary Brown, II and wife, Kimberly, Tammie Bolton and husband, Michael, Isaiah Kaio, Marcus Baxter, Terrell Jenkins, Termaine Jenkins, Edward Williams, Jr. and Joseph Morris, Jr.; god grandson, Elder Clarence Warren, Jr., Rodney Peterson and wife, Sharon; cousins, Norman Gaskins and wife, Retha, Rochester Murphy and wife, Debora and Cortrell Gaskins and wife, Cassandra; a host of beloved great great grandchildren and many more loving relatives and friends.

Mrs. Bennett was born in Gainesville, Florida on March 2, 1922. Later she relocated to Tampa, FL where she was employed and retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was a long time member of New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

There will be viewing from 5:00 – 9:00 P.M. Friday, October 7, 2011 at the Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, FL.
