Lewis was born to Jesse Joe Peterson and Florence Allen on June 8, 1938 in Greenwood, Mississippi. He passed away in his residence on September 20, 2011 at the age of 73 years old.
Lewis confessed his hope in Christ at an early age. He continued his spiritual growth through the studies and leadership of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Lewis leaves to cherish his memories: 2 sons, Nathan of Chicago, Illinois, David of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 4 daughters, Linda and Donnita of Chicago, Illinois, Melba of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Rose of Kenosha, Wisconsin; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 1 sister, Jessie Mae (George) Long of South Bend, Indiana; 1 brother, James Earl Jones of Mississippi; a special nephew, LeRoy Clark of South Bend, Indiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including one dear friend, Marquisha “Pig” Horton.
His parents, Jesse Joe Peterson and Florence Allen; ex-wife, Rosie Lee; and son, Louis Jr. preceded him in death.
Services for Lewis James Allen will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 26807 U.S. 20. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and then services at 11:00 a.m.
