Letha Nell Gibson

Letha "Nell" Gibson, 88, of Itasca, passed into the Lords care on Monday, September 12, 2011. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday, September 16 at the Central Baptist Church in Itasca with interment following in Itasca Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 15 at Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home in Itasca. Nell was born January 31, 1923, in Hill County, to William and Jenni Alverson. She married Edward Gibson on August 21, 1943 and enjoyed 56 years of marriage. Nell was a lifetime Hill County resident and a 30 year member of the Central Baptist Church where she taught Bible class. She always loved to serve the Lord. She was also a long time member of the Itasca Garden Club. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Edward; 1 grandchild; 5 sisters and 4 brothers. Survivors: Son, Jerry Gibson and wife, Elaine, of Santa Barbara, California; daughter, Patti Bradley and husband, Bill, of Carrolton, Texas; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Mary Katherine Daniel, Wanda Marshall and Dorothy Curry.

God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around you and whispered, “Come to Me.” With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away, and although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
