Frank DeRose, 76, a resident of Dover Plains since 1985 and formerly of Yonkers, passed away Mon., June 6, 2011 at New Milford Hospital in New Milford, CT.
Born in Cosenza, Italy on March 6, 1935, he was the son of the late Cesare and Ersilia (Federico) DeRose. Mr. DeRose served in the Italian Army after World War II and married Ida Malizia in Italy on January 29, 1961. As a union carpenter, he was employed by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. He attended Mass at St. John’s Church in Pawling and St. Charles Church in Dover Plains. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus in Yonkers. Mr. and Mrs. DeRose traveled to Italy several times and truly dedicated themselves to their grandchildren.
Mr. DeRose is survived by his wife at home; sons, Alfred and his wife, Oriana, of Pawling, Giuseppe of Denver, CO; daughter, Ersilia Olimpio and husband, John, of Pawling; brothers, Alfredo, Mario, and Octavio; sisters, Ida Coloiera, Enza Turco, and Anna Catalano; grandchildren, Bionca, Antonia, Christopher, Alexis, and Cooper; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is predeceased by his brother, Joseph.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thurs., June 9th at 11am at St. John’s Church, 39 E. Main St., Pawling, NY. Entombment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
