Gloria Marie Gardner Bow born September 11th, 1933, died Sunday March 13, 2011 after a long illness. She was born in Ticonderoga, NY, to Daniel Morgan Gardner, a merchant and Gertrude (Allen) Gardner a homemaker. She is survived by her husband David Joseph Bow of Pearl River. They have three sons; David Bow of Ridgefield, CT, daughter-in-law Eileen and daughters Jessica and Jacqueline, Daniel Bow of Yorktown Heights, NY, daughter-in-law Joan and sons Connor and Drew, son Jonathan of Nanuet, NY and daughter-in-law Carolyn and children Jonathan and Jerilyn. She was a resident of Pearl River for over 40 years and a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She began her education at Canton Agricultural and Technical Institute where she was to meet her future husband. Her first job was as a hand model for Necchi Sewing machines in Manhattan. She received her Bachelors degree from Kean College in Occupational Therapy. She worked at the Robert Yeager Health Center in Pomona, NY. She was a skilled, seamstress, needle worker and craftperson. Her family and community have enjoyed the many fruits of her creativity. She was actively involved in genealogy research of her upstate NY family and was a member of the DAR. She was in training to become a Master Gardner. Her gardens of perennials and roses will be enjoyed by her family for many years to come. There will be a Memorial Service on Sunday March 27th at 12:30 PM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 112 North Main Street in Pearl River. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her name to the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society; www.ILADS.org or to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
