Memorial services for James D. “Trey” Byers, III, 22, of Reynolds, will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Goddard – McLeighton Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Trey passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010 in Crawford County. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Congregational Christian Church. Trey was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and an electronics wizard. He was highly devoted to his children and family and a very loving and devoted son.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Lamar and Kay Posey, paternal grandparents, James D. Byers, Sr. and Shirley E. Byers and an uncle and aunt, Mike and Lisa Posey.
Survivors include his parents, Michelle Posey (Steve) Young of Reynolds and James D. (Alysia) Byers of Junction City; his children, Riley and Marissa Michelle Byers and step-daughter, Mackenzie Humphreys and fiance’ and mother of his children, Lisa Humphreys all of Crawford County; three siblings; Mitch (Susanna) Posey of Warner Robins, Beth Byers (Jason) Reese of Alabama and Andy Byers of Junction City; one step-brother, Alex Young of Tennessee; paternal grandparents, James and Virginia Young of Reynolds; maternal grandfather, Wimberly Hartley of Reynolds; maternal grandmother, Denise Sheffield of Reynolds; aunts, Lisa (Kemp) Peterman of Warner Robins and Whitaker Hartley of Reynolds; uncle, Walter Hartley of Reynolds; nephews, Micah and Levi Posey of Warner Robins, Lennon Posey of Wisconsin and Austin Reese of Alabama; cousins, Caleb Posey of Fort Valley and Ashley Peterman of Warner Robins; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 until the service hour.
