Stanley A. Kulesa, age 91, of Lake in the Hills died at his home on Wednesday January 12, 2011. He was born in Detroit to Anthony and Josephine (Najmola) on April 28, 1919. He married Virginia Golochowicz at St. Hyacinth Church in Detroit, Michigan on May 18, 1946. Stanley was a proud Marine Combat Veteran of WWII, having fought in the battles for Guadacanal, Tarawa, Saipan, and Tinian. He was a long time employee of General Motors serving as a Fire Chief for the GM Tech Center in Warren, Michigan. Stanley also was a baseball umpire for the Detroit Federation for 37 years. His incredible devotion to Virginia, the love of his life, spanning over six decades, was and continues to be a source of inspiration for family and friends alike. A man of integrity, his patience and optimism are both our legacy and our challenge. Although our family will miss him greatly, we are thankful that he is now at peace in the Lords Hands. He is survived by his wife Virginia; his daughters Marcia (George) Wines, Carla (Gary) Holloway, Paula (Mike) VandenBoom, Donna (John) Kapcia, and Patty (Tom) Bennett; a son Kevin (Lynnette) Kulesa; grandchildren Jennifer (Mike) Hill, Shelley (Waterson) Calhoun, Robin (Oscar) Ramirez, Ryan Holloway, Rebecca (Tim) Sheehan, Anthony (Mandy) Root, Jason Kapcia, Kelly Kapcia, and Jessalyn, Miles, Madison Bennett; great grandchildren Melissa, Sarah, and Allison Hill, Melia Ramirez, and Noah Stanley Bennett; a sister Virginia Zajdel.
