FRAZEYSBURG – Joy L. Brailer, 81, of Nashport, Ohio died Monday evening, January 3, 2011 at Cedar Hill Care Center, Zanesville. Born November 8, 1929 in Zanesville, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Mildred (Kirby) Archer and was a 1948 graduate of St. Thomas High School. Mrs. Brailer was a homemaker and a member St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Mattingly Settlement. She was a poll worker for Licking Township for several years. Surviving are five sons, Larry (Linda) Brailer, Ron (Debbie) Brailer and Roger (Janet) Brailer, all of Nashport, Pat (Betsey) Brailer of Upper Arlington, Ohio and Jim Brailer of Tempe, Arizona; four daughters, Anita (Andy) Bebout of Pataskala, Ohio, Janet (Jay) Levings of Prospect, Ohio, Janice Hoover and Linda (Marty) Bice, both of Dresden, Ohio; a sister, Barbara Greulich of Zanesville; twenty-two grandchildren; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard E. Brailer whom she married November 24, 1949 and who died February 8, 2005; a son Michael L. Brailer who died May 29, 2003 and a sister, Betty Lou Polen. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street with services of Christian Wake being held at 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Friday, January 7, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Road, Nashport, with the Rev. Father Jack Maynard as the celebrant.
