Bobby Jay Williams
Bobby Jay Williams, age 66, of Redwater, Texas went home to be with his Lord Sunday, December 19, 2010. He died peacefully in the comfort of his home.
Mr. Williams was born September 6, 1944 in Stuttgart Arkansas and after leaving DeValls Bluff, Arkansas has resided in Redwater for the past 30 years. Retiring from GTE after twenty nine years of service, Bobby became known as the “Redwater Taxman”. Also a devoted member of the First Baptist Church Redwater, he served as a leader in the AWANA and Bus Ministries. He was preceded in death by his parents J. B. and Edna Williams, three brothers, Merlin Williams, Charles Williams Jimmy Williams and sister, Donna Sebren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of forty six and ½ years, Glenda Garner Williams of Redwater, Texas, and his three children and their spouses: Ronnie and Angie Williams of San Antonio, Texas; Cindy and Eric Martinson of Rockwall, Texas; and Jason Williams of Redwater. Bobby was also survived by the joy of his life his seven grandchildren Jonathan, Gabriel, and Eliana Martinson, Peyton, Saxton, Kenzington Williams and Cambria McWilliams; sister: Diane Spadoni of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, brother: Terry Williams of May Flower, Arkansas; his mother-in-law Rebecca Garner of Redwater, Texas, a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of beloved friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P. M. Thursday, December 23, 2010 at First Baptist Church, Redwater, with Rev. Steve Rice and Brother Mike Powell officiating. Burial will be in Redwater Cemetery under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 P. M.
The family will be at the Williams residence, 109 Elm Street, Redwater, Texas.
