Welcome Image
Welcome to our web site. It is our goal to provide answers to your questions related to funeral service.

We are dedicated to providing meaningful ceremonies for families who are coping with the death of a loved one.

Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home was established by Herman H. Lohmeyer, Sr. in 1923. In 1925 Herman purchased what was once the F. X. Heers home. He converted the building into a funeral home with living quarters above for his family. The building is on Springfield's Historic Register and has been refurbished, yet still has the unique beauty of a turn of the century home. Our funeral home is wheelchair accessible.

Herman Lohmeyer's has a long reputation of professionalism and a genuine concern for the families they serve. The Lohmeyer family has deep roots in the community going back to the early 1800's. Paul Wunderlich has worked for Herman Lohmeyer's as embalmer and funeral director since 1979. He and his wife, Lynn, have purchased the controlling interest in the business.
