taff members of Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff. The funeral home is currently owned and managed by Robert C. Hutchison, Jr., a third generation funeral director. Rob, or "Robby", as known locally, is a 1977 graduate of Middletown High School, a 1982 graduate of the University of Delaware, and a 1988 graduate of Catonsville Community College, Mortuary Science Program in Catonsville, Md. He has been a Licensed Funeral Director since 1989 and is a member of the Delaware State Funeral Directors Association, the Delmarva Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. In 2003 Rob was appointed by Governor Minner to serve on the Board of Funeral Service for the State of Delaware, and was elected January, 2007 as President. Rob has also served as the Delaware representative on the National Funeral Directors Association's Policy Board. He lives in Middletown with his wife and 2 sons. They are members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Middletown. Rob and his family are involved with many activities in the MOT Area. He serves on the Planning and Zoning Board for the Town of Middletown, the Board of Directors for the MOT Senior Center, the Board of Directors for Old Union Church Historical Society, and also volunteers for Old Drawyers Cemetery, President of Forest Cemetery, and serves on the Board of Townsend Cemetery and is a member of Union Lodge #5 AF&AM of Middletown, and Appoqunimink Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. Rob and his family are involved with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Middletown, MOT Soccer, and Delaware Special Olympics. Through the business he supports MOT Little League, MOT Youth Football, MOT Softball Marathon, MOT Senior Center, the Appoquinimink Boys and Girls Club, and MOT PAL Youth Basketball.
