HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES TAKING DONATIONS FOR THOSE AFFECTED BY SUPERSTORM SANDY November 7, 2012 – Lafayette, IN – Hahn-Groeber Funeral & Cremation Service is reaching out to a faraway community to aid those impacted by the recent storm along the New Jersey and New York shores. As a member of The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR), Rich Groeber stated that we must come together nationally as a community to assist those in need, no matter how far we find ourselves from the actual devastation. It is this type of response that brings us together not only as a nation, but as compassionate human beings. OGR member firm, John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals Inc., Staten Island, NY found itself at the epicenter of the recent Superstorm. While they may have not suffered the complete destruction as some of those around them, John Scalia embraces the needs of his community as his own. Just as Mr. Scalia has opened his facilities to those in need, so does fellow OGR Member, Rich Groeber as he reaches out to help those in Staten Island. “After we received an e-mail from the Scalia family, stating they were housing and feeding their neighbors on Staten Island in one of their facilities, I felt the need to respond somehow” said Rich Groeber. The Scalia’s asked that OGR members send blankets, towels, sheets, and personal hygiene items, as the folks have lost everything. “That is what we hope to collect” Groeber stated. Hahn-Groeber Funeral & Cremations Service will be taking donations at their location in Lafayette, IN at 1104 Columbia St. 47901 from 9 AM until 5 PM Monday thru Friday. If pick-up is needed, please call 765-742-7873. Mr. Rich Groeber will provide for all shipping costs as a gesture of helping those in need.
