The Haudenshield Funeral Homes were established in 1919 by it’s founder, Sydney Haudenshield, Sr., who in time operated nine funeral homes in the Tri-State area. Through the years he sold some of his funeral homes to area funeral directors and are still operated as funeral homes to this day. Our funeral home was the forerunner of many innovations in the early years, such as the first to introduce the motorized hearse to the Tri-State area and the originators of the white funeral flags placed on cars in the funeral procession to insure their safety along the route traveled.
