The property for Sheppard Funeral Home of Copperas Cove was bought in 1998. This property was formerly The Fabulous West Steak House. The building was completely remodeled inside and out and opened for business in June 1999 displaying a warm, comfortable, home like atmosphere with a large chapel, large spacious visitation areas and state rooms.

Larry D. Sheppard owned and operated the funeral home along with his wife Phyllis B. Sheppard until his death in April 2010. Phyllis now owns and operates the facility with the assistance of Buddy G. Southards, Embalmer and Funeral Director In Charge.
The Sheppards have owned and operated a number of funeral homes in the West Texas and Central Texas areas since 1968 serving many, many families in their time of need with compassion and a Motto of "Our Family Helping your Family".
