T he heritage of the funeral home in North Salem dates back to 1885 when it was known as the Davis Funeral Home. In March of 1955 Bob and Barbara Porter purchased the business. The Porter family lived in the funeral home where they reared four children. Bob and Barbara purchased the Walker Funeral Home in Jamestown on November 1, 1976. The Porter family has been very active in their community. "Dedicated to Service" is the philosophy that Bob has applied to running his funeral homes. Bob and Barbara's son, Byron Porter, along with his wife, Lora Porter, purchased the business in 2010. On November 30, 2012 Matt and Liz Drury purchased the business from the Porter family. The Drury family is from Lebanon where they own and operate a funeral home. We are very passionate about preserving the level of service the Porter Funeral Homes have provided for over 58 years.
